Annual 2006 VHES Meeting: September 8, 2006

September Meeting; 9:45--13:30

1. July VHES minutes were approved & accepted.
2. Election of Officers;
   • President; Mark Blanchard (Springfield Hospital)
   • Vice President; Brian Sallisky (Southwestern Vermont Medical Center)
   • Secretary/Treasurer; Andrew Hall (Brattleboro Memorial Hospital)
3. It was suggested and discussed that membership eligibility needs to be
   

   to include past Hospital Engineers that have retired, moved or do not work in Healthcare.

   The VHES Membership eligibility is to be modeled after NEHES eligibility for membership.
   (An example is Mark English who a retired VT Healthcare Engineer & a NHES member.)

4. Dues/ and applications are still needed for 2006 VHES membership.
   Reminder & 2007 dues request to be sent out to VHES Members.
   (See VHES Member List.)
5. The NEHES fall conference.
   A NEHES Bus trip to Hartford Conn. To a Co/Gen Plant on Sept. 27. Seats are still available. Contact Mark Blanchard
6. VHES Education
   The 2006-2007 Education schedules;
   • 11/10/ 2006 V.A. in White River, USP 797
   • 1/12/2007 Gifford, Alterative energy, Peak shaving, Energy audit & conservation
   • 3/09/07 Springfield, Security systems/cameras/security integration.
   • 5/11/07 SVMC Code Review (possible 99, 70E, 101, elevators)
   • 7/13/07 St.Albans, JCAHO & CHFM review
   • 9/14/07 Springfield annual business meeting. To be determined.
7. Presently, the annual VHES meeting coincides with the VAHHS meeting. The VHES meeting is usually held at the same time as VAHHS annual meeting. There are members that would also like to attend the VAHHS meeting. There is no reason the VHES meeting needs to be held on the same date. It was agreed to move the annual VHES meeting (in Sept.) to be on a different date as the annual VAHHS meeting. The members present agreed.
8. Mark Blanchard provided an update for the VHES web site. There is a discussion thread where information can be shared and questions can be asked.
9. The VHES member list was updated. List is also on the VHES web site.
10. Dan Petherbridge reminded that information is requested about the Vt. Hospitals audit/info.
11. There are 40 VHES members, 24 people still owe dues. Andy will send out a reminder.
12. The Treasurer report was $2,368. As of the VHES bank statement in July.
    The VHES Check book Balance $2,068 ($300 outstanding)
13. VEHES maintains contact & networking with former Vt. Healthcare
    Engineers & with other Hospitals.
    Example; Doug Stringfield in Fla. shares info & corresponds with members.
14. The Next VHES meeting will be held at the V.A. Nov. 10.
